Syreon Claims Queen’s Cup On Golden Slipper Day

Golden Slipper Day is almost over but not before Chris Waller’s name features once again this time in the quinella for the Queen’s Cup.

It was Syreon who took out the victory just in front of one of the roughies of the field Beijing Boy.

It’s been an interesting day to say the least for Chris Waller who took out the George Ryder with Rangirangdoo just before losing his runner at the gates in the Golden Slipper.

It was a tough run by Syreon which was the strongest horse down the strait and Beijing Boy which finally found some form.

Punters went hard with the favourite Base which looked out of it at the turn but found a run late to storm home hard and grab third spot.

Syreon has been nominated for the Doncaster in what was almost considered a joke before today but now a real chance. Keep an eye on Base for his next race as well.

2011 Queen’s Cup Results

1st – Syreon ($13)

2nd – Beijing Boy ($13.50)

3rd – Base ($1.60)
