Do You Think has failed to force his way in to the Golden Slipper with a clean bill of health across the entire field leaving un unchanged line-up on Golden Slipper morning at Rosehill Gardens.
Do You Think had more support from punters than a fair few of the starting horses but the $31 chance won’t be making his second career start in the $3.5 million race.
He was in gate nine if he were to run meaning all the horses outside of him now move in one barrier.
The Bart Cummings runner will still run on Golden Slipper Day though, entered for Race #1 where he’s a short priced favourite.
The $125,000 Group 3 The Schweppervescence kicks off today’s Rosehill racing action just before midday AEDST.
Do You Think will be in barrier 11 for that one and at last check was just over the $2.00 mark with Luxbet.com.
The legendary Cummings stable still has double representation in the main event 2011 Golden Slipper with Salade and Empress Rock.
Salade is his best chance in the race but will need to break more than a 32 year Golden Slipper drought if he is to win it for the Cup’s King.
After debuting in the Pago Pago Stakes just last week he impressed with a 2.5 length win but will become the most inexperienced horse in history to win the event if he triumphs today.
He’s currently at $15 with Luxbet and will jump from barrier 11.
Empress Rock is the roughie of the field anywhere up to $100 with some bookies.
She does jump from barrier three though and has the ride of Michael Rodd.
Her only start was for a win at Warwick Farm over 1000m by an impressive three lengths.
Despite their limited race experience, Cummings delivered it typically straight forward when asked if it was a concern.
“Mine (Golden Slipper starters) have probably had even more preparation than some of the others,” Cummings said.
The 2011 AAMI Golden Slipper is scheduled as Race 7 today at 4:05pm (AEDST).
